We are fast approaching the end of the 7^th Framework Programme. Looking ahead, the European research and innovation activities will be since 2014 implemented through a new programme, Horizon 2020.

With a budget of €80 billion, the new European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation will bring together all the research and innovation funding currently implemented through FP7, CIP and EIT programmes.

Science will benefit of  nearly €25 billion for top lever research activities, industry will be able to use almost €18 billion to strengthen the industrial leadership in innovation, and the major European priorities and concerns will have available €31 billion to make a better and safer life driven by renewable energy in a better climate, having a sustainable transport and mobility in a better society.
