Security Innovation Award 2025

The European Commission is launching the 2025 Security Innovation Award, which will recognize innovative solutions coming from innovators involved in security research funded under the EU Research Framework Programme. The aim is to promote solutions that have achieved significant impact when it comes to market uptake of research results in the area of civil security. Read more and apply! Deadline: 19 March 2025 at 20.00 CET.

The uptake of innovation stemming from EU-funded security research is not a single-step process, and there is no single method of ensuring the market uptake of successful research results. Innovation uptake needs to be contemplated as a long process that is conditioned by a number of enabling actions to be taken before research is even planned and long after it is completed. The Security Innovation Award 2025 is part of next the next Security Research Event taking place in Warsaw on 24 & 25 June 2025.

The winner will be invited to the Security Research Event (SRE) 2025 for the award ceremony.

The Commission invites beneficiaries of Framework Programme 7 (FP7), Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe civil security funding in the areas of Fighting Crime and Terrorism, Disaster Resilient Societies, Resilient Infrastructure, Border Management, Strengthening Security Research and Innovation and Cybersecurity, to apply from now until 19 March 2025 at 20.00 CET by filling the application form.

Any question regarding the Award can be addressed to HOME-SRE-2025-SIA@ec.europa.eu.
